Those of you who read my “Facebook Page” know that I, Renee Ashley Baker, posted an “idea” for Mark Zuckerberg (in hopes of getting 500,000 shares of “FB stock”). Now, I have another “idea” for Mr. Mark Zuckerberg (IDEA #2) wherby I, Renee Ashley Baker, would give Mark Zuckerberg “Facebook rights” to my “Newspaper Syndicated Podcast”. I, Renee Ashley Baker, would give Mark Zuckerberg these rights for the 500,000 shares of “Facebook Stock”…..(Mr. Zuckerberg has added many apps and entertainments to Facebook aka “Angry Birds” and “Zynga” and “Instagram”…. Renee Ashley Baker’s idea for “Disaster Preparedness”?

How about having a “list” of “Disaster Helpers” who will “swing into action” in a catastrophe such as Hurricane Sandy? Meaning helicopter companies and pilots, airplane charter companies and pilots, and manufacturing companies (blankets, apparel, and other needed items–especially FOOD). Volunteers in States (other than the “catastrophe state”) would begin dialing the above “manufacturing” companies and arranging for “delivery” of “needed items”. This–all “Volunteer Disaster Bank” would work “outside of” but possibly “in tandem with” FEMA…..Of course, the “helicopter, airplane charter and manufacturing companies” would be able to “write these donations off their income taxes”….

        Can somebody tell me why the European economy (socialism) and the United States economy (capitalism) both collapsed at the same time?  It  seems  one or the other should have collapsed but not both–and  NOT  at the same time !    Where is the economist who can explain this to me?

      Can somebody tell me why politicians and journalists frequently (and outrageously) LIE and why billions of dollars are routinely sneaked away–syphoned off by crooks?  It seems we’ve become able to live “future age” healthy into our 80′s and 90′s only to be surrounded and accosted by “liars and thieves”. 

     In my day (this is my day–what am I saying);  I mean–in grade school– “liars and thieves”  were outcast and shunned.   In  college– the discussions of  literature were about characters and the moral decisions that confronted them about lying (name one?) or about thievery (name one?).   That–is why– I was so, so (taken aback?) when two “old dogs”  from AARP stood in my face and told bold face lies (and why weeks ago Englewood library employee “Debra”  tried to steal my “flash drive”).  These “old ” (fill in the blanks) are not,  NOT  my Mother’s people.    My Mother (the beautiful  “Mrs. A” ) used to say there were two things she couldn’t stand, and those two things were a “liar and a thief”. 

       So– I sit here following the Republican race for the White House hoping that some old and much  needed ”glory” will come shining through the clouds but so far–none has.  (Although I’m kind of pulling for Newt Gingrich  because he lives in Roswell.  Roswell is  the  “exclusive”  gated community in Georgia where my relative –Justice Department employee —Clemmie lives).

      Anyway–such is the reason for the rant yesterday (which I removed from my blog)  so that “new readers” could view my more cogent  (and   flameless)  writings.

Glamorous Wednesday: Belated Goodbye

                       

                              Margaret Truman Daniel

                       (February 17, 1925-January 29, 2008)

                 She was born in Independence Missouri and christened Mary Margaret Truman (for her aunt Mary Jane Truman and her maternal grandmother Margaret Gates Wallace) and she was called “Margaret” from early childhood.

              Margaret graduated from George Washington University and in the late 1940′s she under went operatic vocal training and pursued a singing career that was widely publicized during her father’s Presidency.  She performed on stage, radio and television until the mid-1950′s….

             On April 21, 1956 Margaret married New York Times reporter (and later editor) Clifton Daniel (1912-2000).  They had four sons Clifton Truman, William Wallace, Harrison Gates and Thomas Washington. 

              In later life Truman resided in her Park Avenue home in Manhattan and served on  the Board of Directors for the Harry S. Truman Presidential Library and Museum along with Board of Governors for the Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt Institute. 

             Margaret Truman Daniel died in Chicago  on January 29, 2008 at the age of 83.   Her ashes and those of her husband E. Clifton Daniel were interred in her parents’  burial plot at the Truman Library and Museum in Independence Missouri….
