So–I, Renee Ashley Baker–got busy before the “big game” and began taking pictures of my “relative’s house”. Pictures of her fireplace with the TV on (I got a great shot of a Bengal in action don’t you think?) Pictures of her telephone–which you can only buy in Europe, and pictures of her high tech refrigerator which you can only get if you have money).

Anyway—this is a “football household”. So–during my annual Christmas holiday visits I have to sit through the “Denver Broncos” game or I DON’T EAT (LOL). I stuck, on the candleabra an unopened pair of Denver Broncos souvenir earrings. (As in The Broncos are THE LIGHT….) My “Relative” is cooking “pheasant” that was ordered from a “gourmet food catalog”.

Recipes–Wednesday–(From The New York Times)
1. CRAB AND ARTICHOKE CANAPES
1/2 cup Russian dressing
1/4 teaspoon dry mustard
1 six-ounce can crabmeat, pick over well
1 ten-ounce can artichoke bottoms, drained
2 tablespoons chopped parsley
Lemon wedges
1. Combine the Russian dressing and mustard and fold in the crabmeat, mixing lightly but thoroughly.
2. Pile the mixture on the artichoke bottoms. Just before serving, brown the canapes in a preheated broiler and sprinkle with chopped parsley. Garnish with lemon wedges and serve immediately.
Yield: 8 to 12 canapes
2. CANAPES A LA SIMON
1. Cut small rounds of thinkly sliced bread with a biscuit cutter and toast in broiler.
2. In a skillet, cook six or seven slices bacon until soft, chop and mix with one cup Major Grey’s chutney.
3. Spread the mixture ont he toast rounds and broil in a preheated broiler about five inches from the source of heat until a slight crust is formed on top and the canapes are heated through.
1. Marinate the raw shrimp in the remaining ingredients one hour or less.
2. Place the shrimp with a little of the marinade in a skillet and cook three or four minutes, until the shrimp are done. If possible, use an electric skillet.
Yield: 4 servings
4. RENEE ASHLEY BAKER’S TIPS FOR SERVING COLD DRINKS:
a. Freeze ice cubes containing: Olives, cocktail onions and twists of lemon.
b. When mixing drinks just pop one of these ice cubes into the glass

“Yep! Vienna trained architect Bernard Rudofsky became an intellectual celebrity. Although not household name, Rudofsky questioned every aspect of modernism (from architecture and museum installations to textiles and fashion)….The 1944 show “Are Clothes Modern?” that he curated at the Museum of Modern Art (in NYC) included shoes…. (Some of which he ridiculed for their unwearableness and others which he praised–were modeled after sandals from “antiquity”)….Soon after, Rudofsky founded “Bernardo Sandals” and by 1960 the fabulous and the one and only Jackie O (aka Former First Lady Jackie Kennedy) was said to own 16 colors of the same pair….
Rudofsky designed the American pavilion for the 1958 Worlds Fair in Brussels and after decamping to Japan he analyzed Japanese culture in “The Kimona Mind”…..Bernardo Sandals was relaunched in 2001….

Dear New Readers: I thought you’d like to know one “fact” about me –which is–I have never, never “been ignored”. At the age of 7 I was picked/selected to perform “solos” on stage (in front of an audience and under a spotlight). In grade school I was picked/selected to “student government”, to “honor guard”, to State “square dancing” competitions, and to “drama club”. In college, I was “invited” to pledge to a “rich girl sorority” (However I declined to concentrate on “drama/acting classes”). And now–I will “Executive Produce” my first motion picture for worldwide theatrical release (NO tv shows– just this motion picture only. And, No to NBC/Universal and No to Warner Bros. I’m with Disney motion picture distribution–exclusively). I don’t know the meaning of the word “ignore”–so look out! My life’s motto (because I’m from St. Louis Missouri) has always been: “I’ll SHOW YOU BETTER THAN I CAN TELL YOU….”.
